Operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Range Telephone Cooperative since 1991, DTE serves over two thousand six hundred subscribers. As a member of the Range corporate family, DTE has access to corporate communications expertise that provides our subscribers with the latest in communications service options. Services Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc. provides quality local access services at reasonable rates to our rural Wyoming and Colorado customers. DTE also provides a full range of custom calling features, local dial up broadband access to the Internet, interstate and intrastate equal access and advanced communications services including custom marketing/advertising consultation services and Internet site development.

Lifeline-Linkup Telephone Service Assistance Programs Lifeline service discounts are available to qualified customers. FCC Lifeline credit is $10.00 per month and the Wyoming Telephone Assistance is $3.50 per month. PASSWORD POLICY INFORMATION Weak passwords are the number one cause of on-line identity and personal information theft. DTEWorld encourages all of our Internet customers to change their passwords on a regular basis.

NOTICE:
DTEWorld or agents of DTEWorld would never request your username or password information via email or email reply.
If you have replied to such a request with your account information we strongly suggest that you change your password to protect your account.
A change in your account password may require changing Internet settings in your computer. DTEWorld suggests you contact tech support at the appropriate number listed above for assistance. Below are the policy requirements for passwords, if your present password fails to meet these requirements it must be changed.

• Minimum of 8 characters required
• Password may not be the same as the username
• Alphanumeric required (combination of letters and numbers)
• May include upper and/or lower case characters – a mix of both is a good security measure
• Excluded characters are single quote ’, double quote ”, asterisk *, and sign &, dollar sign $, at sign @, slashes /\, dashes -, brackets, and spaces

Please avoid using common words that can be found in the dictionary and common strings of numbers such as 123456 or letters such as abcdefg
You can change your password on-line using the webmail portal, http://webmail.dteworld.com and selecting the Account Manager Center link in the lower left hand margin of the screen. Once the page opens select the Change Password option and follow the prompts.

VIRUS ALERT INFORMATION There has been a sudden surge in email virus activity across the Internet. Typically these emails are characterized by a .pdf file or image file which may contain an executable file. DO NOT OPEN these files!!! Once successfully opened these files may execute malicious programs which could affect your computer. This link provides useful and updated virus information. Be aware that many of these types of email messages have forged "from (sender) addresses" which could include recognized mail domains such as @dteworld.com.

SECURITY Internet access isn't necessarily one-way. Not only does it provide your computer access to the World Wide Web it also has the potential to allow others access to your computer. Understanding the nature of access and the potential for intrusion can help you take the necessary steps to protect your computer from attack. Security is your responsibility, it is up to you to install and maintain the latest virus and spyware updates on every computer using your network. It is also up to you to enable and configure firewall protection software either on your computer or at your router or both. Equipment makers generally provide tutorials on security settings on their web site or may also provide tech support to help you with configuration. Information you will need is your operating system (Windows Vista, ME, NT or 2000 or MAC OS 9,10, etc.), modem and/or router make and model and whether you have dynamically assigned IP addressing or a static IP. Unless you have requested a static IP address from DTEWorld your IP addressing is dynamically assigned (DHCP).

The term network in this case refers to the various connection modes used to deliver access to your computer/s. Depending on your physical address your DSL service may be delivered via telephone cable or fiber optic or a combination of both to your telephone protector.

Wired Network - Simply stated a wired network means that devices connect to the Internet using a physical (wired) connection. Access within a wired network can only be accomplished by physically attaching (plugging in) to that network.

Wireless Network - In a wireless network the wired network is passed to a wireless router or modem which then transmits access via a radio signal. This creates a wireless network which by default can be accessed by any wireless enabled device in range of the signal.

Due to changes and upgrades in our network DSL subscribers who do not have a static IP address may need to make settings changes in their network settings. Tech Support (1-800-874-9527 ) can assist you in determining if your settings will need to be changed or you can use this DSL Settings link and select your operating system to check for yourself.
