DTE Wire Care (Inside Telephone Wire Maintenance Coverage Plan) is available for $2.00 per month per telephone number per location for residential households and businesses with two lines maximum.
For repair service whether the problem is with your inside wire, the telephone jack or the telephone network outside your home, call DTE.
DTE will identify the source of the problem and repair it. Repairs will be made during normal business hours.
Plan Coverage:
- DTE will identify the problem, whether the source is the inside wire, telephone jacks or your telephone set.
- DTE will repair or replace as needed all telephone wire that runs from the telelphone company connection point (usually the small box on the outside of your home or business) to the telephone jacks and outlets inside your home.
- DTE will repair or correct the trouble in a reasonable manner and, if required reroute wire along baseboards or other locations to avoid unnecessary damage.
- DTE will repair existing jacks and wiring as long as one jack is in working order at the time of purchasing DTE Wire Care.
- DTE will reconnect any existing and working jacks to the main phone line disconnected by a previous customer.
Excluded from Coverage:
- Installation of new inside wire and jacks.
- Complex wire and cable connected to electronic systems.
- Inside phone wire maintenance if at least one jack is not in working order prior to the initiation of the plan.
- Customer equipment (i.e. standard telephones, cordless telephones, answering machines).
- Drilling or cutting into walls.
- Telephone wiring between buildings or separate units of a multi-tenant property.
- Rewiring for jacks and wiring not installed in accordance with accepted industry standards for telephone wiring. DTE will offer to make repairs based on standard rates.
- Multi-line & key system business locations.
- Wiring destroyed by fire, flood or natural disasters.
Renters:
Rental properties may require approval of the prperty owner before repairs can be made.
