Custom Calling Features
Custom Calling Features are another example of how DTE places the latest in communication services at our customer's fingertips.
Below is a list and explanation for Calling Services offered by DTE. Activation and deactivation where applicable can be found by clicking the feature name. For more information and a price listing please contact the DTE business office at 455-2341 or 383-2150 during regular office hours.
- This service allows you to reject calls from a number that has intentionally blocked its identity. Rejected calls are sent to a recording.
- Automatically redials a busy number and keeps dialing that number for up to 30 minutes. When the number is available, you will be alerted by a special ring. You can then pick up the receiver to be connected to the number dialed.
- This feature first lets you know the last number that called your number and then lets you decide whether or not to return the call.
Automatic Recall, Block Repetitive:
- This feature allows only one auto recall to call you, preventing nuisance calls from someone with the Recall feature.
Automatic Recall, Block to Private:
- This feature prevents someone from calling back to you with the Automatic Recall. This gives your number a "private" call-up status.
- This service allows you to forward your incoming calls only if they are not answered in the amount of rings you choose or if your line is busy.
- Forwards incoming calls when your line is busy.
- The Call forwarding option for your number can be programmed from any phone.
- The old standby - forward your number anywhere. However this has a special feature, just to remind you the number is forwarded, one short ring is heard when someone calls.
- You can transfer a call to another number or add a third person to a call. When youre ready to hang up, the other two people can continue their conversation.
- This feature allows a second incoming call to be answered while you are on the line with a simple flash of the switchhook.
Calling Identity Delivery Suppression:
- This feature allows you to specify whether or not your name and number will be displayed when you place a call.
Calling Number Delivery (Caller ID):
- This feature allows you to see the calling number after the first ring, the calling party has to be in a serving area that offers this feature and you need additional equipment.
- With a compatible set or additional equipment you can, after the first ring, see a display of the calling party's name and number giving you the ability to screen incoming calls. The calling party has to be in a serving area that also offers this feature.
Calling Name & Number Delivery Call Waiting:
- With a compatible set or additional equipment you can, after the first ring, see a display of the calling party's name and number giving you the ability to screen incoming calls, you can then chose to answer the call even though you may be on another call at the time without disconnecting the original call. The calling party has to be in a serving area that also offers this feature.
- A feature that allows you to block your name and number from being displayed to the party you call.
- With this feature you can shut off Call Waiting to prevent any interruption in data transmission or during an important call.
Changed Number Announcement:
- If you change your number or move from the serving area, you can have a recording announce your change to people who call your old number.
Customer-Originated Trace:
- By dialing a simple code you initiate a trace on the last incoming call. The time and number are recorded automatically and by contacting the proper authorities any further action can be determined.
D Teen:
- With this service you can tell, by the ring, who the call is for. Up to ten numbers can be placed on the list to ring a special way when you or your teenager are called.
Fax on Demand:
- This service automatically disseminates information to callers that request it. The caller inputs a fax number where the information can be sent, and the service sends the information to the caller's fax number.
Long Distance Alert:
- This feature places a distinctive ring on all incoming long distance calls.
Personal Intercom:
- This feature allows subscribers to call other extensions on the same number.
Personal Intercom Distinctive Ring:
- This feature allows subscribers to call other extensions on the same number with a distinctive ring.

- A customer can call a local number to reach your out of area number.

- Several customers can call a local number at the same time to reach your out of area number.

- This feature lets you call forward calls from specific numbers, calls from numbers not specified will not be forwarded.
Selective Distinctive Ringing/Call Waiting:
- With this feature it is possible to assign a distinctive ring or call waiting tone to incoming calls from up to 30 different numbers.
- This is the 8 number Speed dial feature that allows you to complete a call by pressing one number.
- This service allows you to complete a call by pressing two numbers to either local or long distance numbers. Long list allows you to program up to 30 numbers for speed dial.
Switched 56 KBPS Service:
- This feature will give you an office switchable data circuit on your phone line.
Teen Line:
- This service gives you two numbers on the same phone line.
Teen Service With Voice Mail:
- The teen line is a secondary line on the main number, someone calling it when the main line is busy will get a busy. Voice mail allows the calling party to leave a message for the teen line number.
- This feature allows a conference call from your number with two other parties.
Voice Mail:
- This feature is an improvement to answering machines as it will record calls when the line is busy or out of order. at this time Voice Mail may not be available in all areas so please call our office to check on availability.
Voice Distribution List:
- Now you can record a message and send it out to several numbers at the same time. With this feature one call sends the message to everyone you select.
Voice Menus:
- You can record several messages and/or call routing options to let the caller choose how their call is connected.
- Your phone will automatically be connected to a predetermined number if the phone is off hook for a set period of time.
